Guild Wars 2! Sound off, will you be there?
« on: March 03, 2012, 06:31:48 PM »
To anyone who still checks the site on occasion, are you going to be there for Guild Wars 2 this year?

I plan on carrying over the Guild to the new game. I don't know if we'll keep the same name, but I'll definitely be there.

I bought the pre-order and played during the beta weekend a bit.  It reminded me of playing a regular RPG, not that much like GW as we previously know it.

It's be quite sometime since I checked the site, but I do plan on picking up GW2.  I played it a little bit at Comic con last year and was impressed.  Haven't pre-ordered it though.  What exactly are the role of guilds in GW2?  They seem to be putting a lot of focus on getting people to play together without the need of groups.  Would they be mostly for PvP and "raids" or dungeons?

Right now I have been absorbed in SWTOR.  I hate paying a monthly fee, so it isn't going to last much longer (it makes it feel much more job like than fun).  But if anyone is playing I am on the Keller Void server, if you'd like some company.

I may pick it up upon release, after such a time investment in the original it seems almost mandatory. For the last two years (or has it been three?) I've been playing EVE Online, it's pay to play but well worth it to me - it's the ultimate sandbox game with real consequences to be paid for going boom.

I didn't preorder yet either. I guess guilds would have the same role as before: Focus groups of like minded players. PuGs were dead easy to make in GW1 but had that annoying factor of getting a douche in the group on occasion. World v.World PvP looks awesome though from what I've seen with the videos and is probably something that we can get into even if its PvP. I have plans to update this site to be mostly a forum with a HTML5 Splash page of sorts when GW2 is closer to release. We never really used the other features of the CMS aside from login and a quick view of threads.

I just started playing SWTOR about a month ago. Also I have a number of characters on Jedi Covenant (Even a lvl 50 Sentinel), rerolling is probably out of the question. Maybe once the super servers or transfers happen.

From the previews I read or podcasts I've listened too, you don't actually have to group up to participate in guests together.  That said, I haven't actually played so I have no idea.  Still I am excited for it.  That and Borderlands 2...and the new Civ5 expansion.

As for SWTOR, I haven't made it to 50 yet, though my smuggler is close.  Hard to make alot of progress playing only a few hours at a time.  As you pointed out, rolling new char is out for me, I'll wait to see what happens with the server merges...if I'm still playing by the time they come.

What a twist, your server merges into mine with the free transfers.

I have a feeling it will be over-crowded now.  At least in the short run.

Doesn't seem too crowded so far, 250 on the fleet at peak time. If you ever decide to transfer look up Arul'brin.

Well, I decided to transfer.  It was too depressing to be on the other server.  It actually feels like an MMO again.  I'll look you up when I'm on again.  Is that your Republic toon?  So far I have only be playing mostly republic.  My char name is Kilee (I had to change my name when transferred  :( ).
